American Revolution
The tensions between British colonists unleashed the hostilities of April 19, 1775. British troops marched towards capturing the rebels and their weapons, in Lexington and Concord (Massachusetts), which had led to armed resistance from the U.S., formally starting the American Revolution and war. As you may note in your research paper, in the summer of 1775, the colonies met in a second conference held formally to proclaim theirs independence, establishing a confederation and a government that would unify the movement to follow. In many regards, the beginning was weak and timid, as the supply of funds was insufficient as well as, the number of military personnel or equipment.
It can be mentioned in your essay that in May 1779, France and United States signed a treaty designed to support the American cause. But it was not just the French who helped with the birth of the United States, also Spain and the Netherlands provided their cooperation. All these efforts resulted in the military victory in October 1781, when the battle of Yorktown, Virginia, British General Cornwallis (1738-1805) surrendered. The American Revolution officially ended with the Treaty of Paris in 1783. All of this will be a pleasure for us to research to help you with your paper.
