Arab Israeli Conflict is a very popular research paper topic. In 1948, with Israel's declaration of independence, fighting broke out in Israel, and shortly after that began the flight of Palestinian Arabs: 726,000 overall, according to the UN records, who became refugees, which resulted in a strong desire of the Palestinians to return to their homeland. The reasons for their flight are still debated: An alleged statement made in August 1948 by the Greek Archbishop of Galilee states that "the refugees had been confident that their absence from Palestine would not last long" and that "their leaders had promised them that the Arab armies would crush the 'Zionist gangs' very quickly." This statement supports the Jewish claim that the flight was led by the Arabs', who issued and broadcasted orders of abandonment through the radio in Israel, during the 1948 war, yet Erskine Childers, an Irish journalist, claimed in 1961 that no such statement was ever released: "I wrote to His Grace, asking for his evidence of such orders. I hold signed letters with permission to publish, in which he categorically denied ever alleging Arab evacuation orders; He says that his name has been abused for years, and that the Arabs fled through panic and forcible eviction by Jewish troops...." This claim, which states the flight was induced by the Jewish army, sees the Palestinians' return to Israeli as justified.

The exodus from Israel caused the Palestinian people to rebel and cause riots in Israel, which result from Palestinian feelings of vengeance towards Israel. These excerpts from a song, titled simply '1948', written by Palestinian children of the Aida Refugee Camp, which resides in Bethlehem, capture these feelings: "…Time shall take revenge from the occupier... No right shall be lost, as long as there is resistance and there are demanders...Every power weakens with time, the government of injustice, vanishes with revolution." This song reveals how the Palestinian people are determined to regain control of the country which they consider as theirs, no matter what the costs are. There does not seem to be a near light in the end of the tunnel which is the Arab-Israeli conflict. Worth mentioning in a custom essay is that its origins date as far back as the Old Testament, changing over the years, the prime change occurring in 1948 with the declaration of Israeli independence. In the book of Genesis feelings of animosity were sparked between the Jews and Arab Palestinians over the right to the holy land. In 1948 the conflict was dominant than ever before, but its causes have changed abruptly as the Palestinian exodus took place and the Arabs became convinced it was a result of Israeli aggression and that they had the right of returning to their homeland. An additional reason to why the conflict continues to rage on even today is that the Palestinians hold intense emotions of revenge towards to Jewish people, and will not bring their struggle to a halt until their idea of justice is made.
