Christianity is a common custom essay topic. St. Paul was a Hellenized Jew from Tarsus. He was the second most important figure in Christianity, right after Jesus. He did a lot of missionary work to spread Christianity to many gentiles, and Jews. He put views of Jesus' message into Greek, and then slowly into Greek philosophy. He preached his message through distinction between the Greek ideas of soul and body, the link between the visible material world, and the invisible spiritual world. He seized the opportunity of a world without war and used the time to launch Christianity on its way. The last thing we hear of Paul is that he was put on trial for sedition and profanation of the temple. Historians believe that he was martyred, killed for his beliefs, in AD 67. Christianity had many followers, or disciples that would change history forever. The thing that gave Christianity a large impact was that its followers saw him crucified and believed that he rose again. Even though many temples were destroyed and many followers were exiled, disciples tried to keep Christianity alive by reading scriptures. That led to the appearance of synagogues, places of teaching, and reading. Then Jewish numbers grew and conversion rates grew because its moral code and promise of salvation drew gentiles to it. Without the followers Christianity would have never survived.

The followers were the ones who had faith the messiah would come and save them. The fact that one idea brought hundreds of thousands of people together resulted in the birth of a long lasting religion. The two main traditions that Jews abide by are circumcision, and their dietary restraints, such as the restriction of pork. Both the Jerusalem Council and St. Paul agreed that gentiles should not have to conform to the two traditions. This decision attracted many people who were once hesitated to follow. Before mostly only Jewish people were attracted to Christ, but now, because traditional restrictions were lifted more people joined. After taking all the ideas and integrating them together you can clearly see that all of these factors affected Christianity in their own ways, but in the same direction, towards growth. Worth mentioning in a research paper is that Christianity has survived for over two thousand years. It has surpassed all protestation, and overcome all persecution. It has spread all over the world, and still fills the lives of many people with joy, and love.
