Alternative Fuel

Today there is a continuous search for alternative fuels, renewable fuels that pollute less and are cheaper. Alternative fuel vehicles are fuel-using equipment other than those derived from petroleum. Have existed for over one hundred years, but lately captivate the attention of governments, automobile producers and consumers. The alternative fuels to include in your research paper are natural gas, electricity and hydrogen. Natural gas is obtained directly from the sites in Cuba and there are reserves of any importance. It consists primarily of methane, formed by a carbon atom with four hydrogens. This structure makes it lighter than air, so if there is a leak immediately making it harder to escape its explosion. The methane or natural gas can be used in two ways, or compressed gas (liquid), the only differences are the physical and the way how they were 'packaged'.

Large methane releases no emissions into the atmosphere, which is the alternative fuel is less polluting. But then again, its small molecular size means that it does not contain much energy, so we need more natural gas to gasoline to travel the same distance. There have only motor vehicles to natural gas, but there are engines capable of using two fuels: gasoline and natural gas. So when the driver has no access to natural gas, he presses a button and gets ready to receive motor gasoline. Today several countries are already beginning to have cars that use natural gas as fuel, mainly to reduce air pollution. Custom essay hint: Italy has one thousand and thirty cars with natural gas, New Zealand, one hundred and fifty thousand, and Canada, twenty thousand. Major automotive companies such as GMC / Chevrolet, Ford and Chrysler are producing cars capable of using natural gas. Natural gas has other applications. In many regions it is used as fuel for stoves and other devices for homes and factories that need gas. Natural gas is transported in pipelines. Surely many readers have seen the LP gas cylinder (liquid petroleum), when the trucks spread through the city. This gas is heavier than natural gas, so it may be more dangerous in case of an explosion as the gas escapes, while the LP accumulates. All the functions of the LP gas (boilers, stoves, ovens and other appliances) may carry out with natural gas.
